Project study semi-detached house, Lake Zurich area 2014
- Building: Semi-detached house
- Client: Private
- Assignment: Concept new building
- Project handling: Anna Hotz Semadeni, Luz Rigendinger
The plot, situated on the sunny slope of Jona, offers a unique view over the upper Lake Zurich region to the Alps.
The single-storey residential building is embedded in the terrain like a retaining wall and spans the entire width of the plot. The architecturally restrained gesture subtly allows all living spaces to face south and the view. The living spaces are fronted by a continuous terrace facing the garden. As a counterpart, there is an intimate courtyard on the slope side between the bedrooms. External staircases connect the three levels of access, living and roof vertically and separate the two parts of the house horizontally. The roof level is developed as a landscape that connects the house and the terrain.
